Vascular disease is a group of conditions that affect the blood vessels in the body. There are several factors that can contribute to the development of vascular disease, including atherosclerosis (buildup of plaque in the arteries), high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, obesity, family history, age, and a sedentary lifestyle.
Tests include ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, angiography, and blood tests. These are used to diagnose and assess the severity of vascular disease. At SS Vascular, all ultrasounds are completed in-house, so you won’t have to make multiple visits to different offices.
Please bring a list of all current medications, identification and insurance cards, and any recent lab or imaging results to your first appointment. Please fill out the new patient form prior to your visit, or arrive early to give yourself plenty of time to complete it.

Some of the common signs and symptoms of vascular disease include pain or cramping in the legs, swelling or pain in the arms or legs, chronic wounds or ulcers that do not heal, varicose veins, high blood pressure, and a family history of vascular disease.
